Tomeu Caldentey

Tomeu Caldentey was born in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar (Mallorca) in 1972. He was the first Mallorcan chef to win the distinction of a Michelin star for his Es Molí den Bou restaurant. It was in 2004, with little more than 30 years and after four years of putting to the front of the kitchen managing the restaurant. Tomeu studied cooking in the Juniper Serra de Palma center when being a cook was not in fashion as it is now. He strengthened his learning by drinking from renowned chefs, among them Juan Romero from the Xoriguer Restaurant (1 Michelin star) or the French chef Gerard Tétard, the first to get a Michelin star for Mallorca from his Ses Rotges restaurant in Cala Ratjada.
